archer's delight

The initial inspiration behind this design came from a previous sculptural work of art I produced involving a wooden hand-painted target accompanied by a series of multi-colored wax guns. That sculpture was furthermore inspired by the work of Jasper Johns who frequently painted targets. As someone, who is quite enamored with pop art and pop-culture, the use of the Disney-stlye animals was an obvious choice to portray cartoon emotion, allowing me to juvenilize the whimsical violence of the illustration. Hopefully this will be printed on a tee in the near future!

Super BMORE

I illustrated this T-shirt design specifically to sell at Whartscape, an insane 3-day music festival of 140 bands put together by Dan Deacon and Wham City in Baltimore. If you've never heard of Whartscape or Dan Deacon you are seriously missing out!

LORAX mimobot

Woozle und Lorax were first created in the fall of 1997 by me and my friend Bryan Rountree. At the ages of 12 and 13, (while attending 7th grade at the Albuquerque Academy) we began illustrating a comic strip based on these two little aliens who crashed-landed their space-cruiser in Roswell, New Mexico. Shortly after wandering into a sci-fi convention and being mistaken for little boys by a used car salesman, W&L began their cross-country adventure quickly blending in with and being absorbed into American pop-culture. Ironically the "two little boys" have never been recognized as aliens... Woozle und Lorax was published in the Albuquerque Academy school newspaper "The Advocate" for 5 years, winning numerous awards and developing a highschool fan base of like-minded nerds. This particular rendition of Lorax was illustrated for the Mimobot design challenge at Infectious. If you can, please take a moment to register at Infectious and vote for my design! Voting ends October 20!!

THANK YOU

I have always been a fan of the "THANK YOU" design printed on retail plastic bags. There's just something about the simplicity & repetition that works so well. I've had the idea of incorporating the idea of this design into a project of mine for some time. I figured a t-shirt application would work perfectly & I came to the realization that incorporating a message about the environmental impact of plastic bags really made a lot of sense as well.

Krylon Boh

Enticed by the volume of Boh gear I see around Baltimore, and being an inspired fan of the iconic logos of both Natty Boh beer and Krylon paint, I just had to combine the two to make a double-awesome t-shirt graphic. I will be selling this shirt to Boh fans around Baltimore soon.

FUTURE ISLANDS T-REX

This flyer, for a warehouse show in Baltimore was designed for the headliner Future Islands, one of my favorite Bmore-based bands. The flyers were laser printed on day-glow magenta, yellow and orange paper and posted around the city. This was the first flyer I designed for Future Islands and I hope to do many more in the future.

BLITZIN YYY's TTT-shirt !!!

This is my design for the recent Yeah Yeah Yeah's T-shirt contest! The members of the band - who are apparently avid T-shirt collectors - sent out an email to everyone on the YYY's mailing list requesting that their fans come up with a fresh T-shirt design. So I spent a hot lazy summer afternoon illustrating this design based on the werewolf in YYY's video for their single "Heads Will Roll" off their new album "It's Blitz."

Happy Holidays

2008's holiday card was inspired by the type found on convenience store & gas station ice freezers. There were 4 colors this year, one for each group of people I mailed cards out to: friends, colleagues, clients, and family.
