Camilla d'Errico

Basic Info
Painting
I've been painting since 2006, starting with small shows in Vancouver through the Ayden Gallery. In 2007 I started showing in LA, San Francisco and other US cities in the lowbrow/pop surrealism/urban contemporary movement and I've been steadily building up my reputation and collector base. Since 2009 I've been represented by Opera Gallery in New York, and inaugurated my first International solo show in Rome in June 2010. I use Holbein's amazing DUO water soluble oils to paint. The problem with oils is that they are toxic and you need a lot of ventilation and drying time, but these break all the rules of conventional oils but still give you that quality and color that oils are delicious for!
Comics & Graphic Novels
I've been working in comics since 2001. My big break came in 2007 when I worked on the 2 issue graphic novel series, Avril Lavigne's Make5Wishes and I was the artist on the final 5 issues of the long-running series, Nightmares & Fairytales, by Serena Valentino. Recently, my creator-owned mini-series, BURN, was published by Arcana Comics and was signed by Simon & Schuster for development into a graphic novel. Currently I'm working on a graphic novel interpretation of a future full-length film, and I'll soon be starting work on a 6 issue mini-series with uber-top writer, Grant Morrison. I've self-published two books, The Fallen and Tanpopo.
Licensing
As a true comic, manga and anime fan, I love STUFF! I adore merchandise of all sorts, especially the kind I can get my hands on at conventions. So I am always open to licensing my images on merchandise, which I have done with Dark Horse, Punchbrand, OSO Design House, Hot Topic, Last Gasp, Gelaskins, Classic Hardware and many more. For information or licensing requests please email adapia@camilladerrico.com.
