Waking up, getting dressed, making coffee, waiting for public transport, sitting in traffic, greeting the newspaper guy, walking to work... and so life goes on.

I could be perceived partly as a humanist. My interest is in people and the odd moments encountered. Daily movements and moments are seemingly forgettable and automated must-dos. Yet, they make up most of life and shapes, body language, routines, culture, identities, personalities and relationships. My work focuses on subverting current ‘real life’ moments into narratives by enhancing them in an ink illustrated or graphic novel-inspired way. The style of ink illustrations have a sense of nostalgia because they are familiar introspective simulations. In graphic novels, there is always something magical about the characters, something special that defines them and rises them above real life stories. Through a illustrative style my work subverts the, real life itself with a recognized nostalgia. In essence my art translates as a core philosophy, automating though life is not much of a life, rather be aware, be actively alive. Read Less
