Ariff Aris is travel & portrait photographer living in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. He started with film photography when he was 16 years old using a Nikon FM camera given by his late father who was also a photography enthusiast. Ariff holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from Curtin University Australia and started officially as a freelance photographer in 2002 prior to the opening of his first photography studio in 2004 named Lika Creative Studio which was co-founded with 2 of his friends.
In early 2007, Ariff decided to venture into photo printing. He then joined Tree Organics Konica Minolta after the separation of Lika Creative Studio. In end 2008, Ariff met his wife Kida and got married in 2010 which led to the start of AriffAris.com, a joint event & Portrait photography gig collaboration with his wife. Darshen Chelliah joined the team in early 2011 making him the 3rd addition to the team and the creation of ThoughtShots photography headed by Ariff Aris.
Apart from photography, Ariff was involved with several videography gigs with Khairil M bahar, Writer, Director & Producer of several Independent & Mainstream films. Ariff was the Director of Photography 1 for Ciplak the Movie - a feature-length film written and directed by Khairil M Bahar and was shot on a shoestring budget of only RM10,000 which won the Anugerah Skrin 2006 for "best alternative film" and "Rollin Sixers - Hard Love", official Music video.
Ariff is also involved with Relationship Status movie as a "2nd unit cameraman" which will be released as a feature film by TGV in January 2012. Read Less
