I am designing and communicating for the main brand of the company, Agora. From concept to illustration, from photography to editorial design of catalogs and fabric swatches. In the same time, I am creating new brands using the power of storytelling for their identities.

Meraki Design is a personal project and my little business, that was born in 2016.

Meraki Design transposes original characters onto a brand based in Barcelona that combines local traditions with heart-inspired artistry to help you fall in love, wherever you are coming from.

When I arrived in Barcelona, I have been amazed by the quantity of culture and of popular tradition I found in the city. It was somehow strange to see so much tradition kept and respected in such a big and cosmopolite city. I was so impressed by all the hard working of the neighbours to keep this traditions alive. I felt sorry that many tourists that are coming to this beautiful city don't get to know all this. Usually people are going home with souvenirs with paella, flamenco, that are not even specific in the area of Barcelona. So I started to dream about illustrating all these beautiful traditions and folk tales, in order to promote it much more. And sometimes, dreams are becoming reality.

The project won the prize Young Entrepreneur Award, at the contest for immigrants entrepreneurs in Spain, organised by Moneytrans in Malaga, Spain.

The products are sold in shops in different neighbourhoods of Barcelona.

I’ve collaborated for design and graphic concepts for the brands commercialised by the company, I’ve been part of the design team and I was involved in all the stages of the products. I’ve also been responsible for stock management, cost evaluation for new products, purchase, produce and import from various international markets. I had to opportunity to collaborate with people around the world with different work cultures, which was such an enriching experience.

The skills I learned over the years in terms of management and responsibility enlarged my vision as a designer that lead to new initiatives such as starting and developing my first business. This wouldn’t have been possible without all the knowledge acquired in this position.

hawati’ the official culture and arts publication of Abu Dhabi, is a bilingual (Arabic/English) quarterly magazine published under the patronage of HE Sheikh Sultan bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, the Government of Abu Dhabi, and the Cultural Programs and Heritage Festivals Committee.

I've been working on the March/June 2016, #34 issue, both on the English and Arabic versions, as an editorial designer. I also did art direction, choosing the best photographies to accompany the articles and doing as well some illustrations.

It was a great cultural experience staying in Abu Dhabi, to work on this project.

This experience gave me the opportunity to participate in different stages of a product development, research tendencies and ideas of products. I've learnt to produce different categories of gift products, searching factories mostly in China, negotiate prices, design, take care of the production and import these products to Spain. I've been to different fairs of products in gifts, in Madrid, Frankfurt, Hong Kong and Guangzhou. The work ambient helped me also to learn how to think products based on the sales.

It was a great satisfaction seeing my products in shops around Spain and also in some other countries from Europe like UK, Portugal and Romania.
