Unknown Artist - Who Knows (Remix)
If I was to record a mix tape, Architecture would be the first track. My architecture degree cemented my skills in ascetic and cultural design. I gained experience at Bolles + Wilson, as an assistant in the International Competition department. Here I was lucky enough to work on projects like the New Palazzo Del Cinema in Venice, the Public Library in Milan and the Music Theatre and Urban Block in Ljubljana.
During my studies I tried to encompass all areas of design into my activities. Along with a good friend we produced our own album (Typ2) and did many releases of live sets. We also focused on designing audio tracks for architecture offices and exhibitions where the ideas of the architect were transported through music. Also during my studies, I worked at one of Europe’s biggest music companies, Global Distribution, as a consultant for product design.
My music was always aimed to be conceptually strong often with a particular influence from other design areas. As part of my final architecture thesis, I conducted an exploration into the relationship between sound and architecture. This resulted in the production of “Press Play”, a music track, music video and book " all based on ascetics and scientific aspects of architecture.
Despite receiving the award for outstanding work by Germany’s highest architectural bodies (BDA, BDB) for designing the embassy for the republic of Yemen in Berlin, I felt ready to push past the limitations of architecture.
It was important to me to be able to combine all aspects of design into communication. This combination and culmination led me to Miami Ad School Europe.
In my opinion, whether it’s advertising, music, or architecture, for people to believe and relate to the work, it needs to have a strong base. This base being a range of understanding from all realms of everyday life.
