Agnete Oernsholt is a multidisciplinary designer, currently living and working in Los Angeles, CA. Her work has been featured in books, magazines and virtual design medias, garnering several awards.
Before earning her degree in Visual Communication from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts/Danmarks Designskole DKDS in 1999, Agnete (in an atypical display of Nordic confidence -- or was it recklessness?) started her own design studio OERNSHOLT, which she has managed to keep alive ever since. Even while pursuing other milestones along the way -- working as art director at Danish advertising agencies; eventually becoming Brand Design Manager at the iconic toy brand, LEGO, for several years -- Agnete never stopped pursuing her own aesthetic goals at OERNSHOLT.
Today, the studio is Agnete's main focus. Working in the areas of graphic design, art direction, title sequence design, packaging, product design, and photography -- and specializing in defining and implementing "bold brand identity in visual mediums" -- her clients have included LEGO, UNICEF, 20th Century FOX, The AIDS Foundation, Virgin Records, Sony Music, L’Oreal, Roskilde Festival, Summerbird.
When the perpetual sun of California starts to fry her brain and stifle her creativity, Agnete retreats to her native Denmark, for shade, reflection, and the kind of inspiration that only the cold, the wet and the gray can provide.
Rooted in design’s rich past, but free-falling towards its ever-sprouting future... Agnete -- and OERNSHOLT -- look forward to continuing the adventure.
