Adriana de Barros is an artist, writer, and poet. She grew up in Toronto, Canada, moving back to her native Caldas da Rainha, Portugal, at the age of fifteen.
Adriana's trademark is her multi-discipline exploration in art, cinema, music, and literature, which she unites into many of her projects. From creating film-like, frame-by-frame Flash visual poems to founding Scene360.com, an eight year old, online film and arts magazine.
Her personal and commercial work has been recognized with numerous editorial and design awards and honors. Most recent print mentions included HOW’s “Top Ten Links”, Web Designing magazine, Tashen’s 1000 Favorite Websites, STEP Inside Design, Curvy, Curvy2, ITCH, and Mangrove. Other achievements are four website nominations in The SXSW Web Awards, a nomination in the 17th Stuttgart Filmwinter New Media Award , selected as a Top Design Site by AIGA Cincinnati, named Site of the Week by MSN.com and New and Notable in Yahoo!
Adriana’s paintings has been displayed in group art shows in Portugal and around the world, and in 2003, she presented a speaker session about the behind the scenes of her interactive and narrative films at the OFFF04, in Valencia, Spain.
