Our society’s unprecedented exposure to violence numbs us to one another’s
distress and increasingly leads to the dismissal of another’s pain.

My work is about the awakening of empathy and compassion through painted testimonials of human tragedy: disease, natural disasters, mass violence.

Watching from Alzheimer's labyrinth, frail arcs of light break from deep lost umbers.
A vulnerable realism betrays impressions of love.

Japan’s lost and hopeful are ground together in Prussian blue. 30 portraits carry 3000 back home; the very medium finds the healing, grace, and virtue seemingly lost to a tsunami of grief.

Dignity and love kill a soulless gunman lost in the American tragedy of our times. Edged arcs split a nation’s darkness with a knife’s gyre opening a route of redemption.

In these dystopian worlds framed within large canvasses, I create events for the viewer to confront their own feelings of compassion and, thus, a glimpse of a potential redemption of man.

In my 25 year journey living across 4 continents, I came to be in the eyes and embraces of countless people who allowed me to briefly inhabit their person,
creating eternal bridges of empathy between us.
