I'm an animator. I focus on the digital restoration and animation of ancient Greek vase images. Check out www.panoply.org.uk. I am currently working on the 'Ure Discovery' project at the Ure Museum of Greek Archaeology, combining vase animations with an interactive museum trail. The exhibition launches on the 17th June '13. My last animation 'Ure View: Animating Ancient Greece', is part of the Cultural Olympiad 'Stories of the World' project. This was shown in the Houses of Parliament on 24th July 2012 in the Arts in Parliament programme and is a part of the current Reading Museum ancient vase exhibition running until Sep 2013. It was an outreach project for the Ure museum of Greek Archaeology at Reading University. Working with school pupils to develop storyboards and animation for a summer exhibition. Over the last couple of years I have created a number of animations including an entry for the 2011 RedBull Canimation animation competition. This was based on an animation created in July 2011 for the Open University that is included in, 'Ancient Olympics: Bridging Past and Present' which is a winner of the OCW Consortium Award for OpenCourseWare Excellence 2012.
A small looped variation of this animation has been created for the Ure Museum of Greek Archaeology's website and has also been used in the iMuse project run through the University of Reading's Museum of English Rural Life.
I have also created a number of logos and stationery sets for some start up businesses. The best of which can be found here.
I started out as a software engineer, working on software, games, multimedia and websites. Even then I was always designing flyers and posters for my friends' events and I started teaching myself how to make animations. As I improved, I decided to study Multi-Media Production at IBaT College in Ireland. Since then my skills and creativity have continued to grow and I've worked on some great projects designing logos and making animations for a growing number of clients. I'm always up for working with new people to make great animations and designs, so please get in touch! Read Less
