This project is based on a scenario, where in 2042 the World Cup is hosted in Cairo, Egypt. As a third world country our chances to be involved in the screening process is minimal and therefore a conceptual idea of a new stadium is essential to market the idea of the world cup in Egypt. There are a lot of different aspects to consider while designing a new “world cup stadium” in a hot climate country like Egypt.

 

The weather situation in Cairo is one of the main problems and that's why the 2042 World Cup stadium should ensure the safety and health of the players, considering the cultural and environmental issues in Egypt using natural air ventilation as a method.

 

 

The concept was visualized in a 1:300 scaled cross section model where the details of the ventilation concept are visible.
