VR Fire Training Experience

Simsafe VR Fire Training
I was a part of the product team that brought this VR training simulator to market. As the Creative Lead on this project, I developed the name and branding, as well as the UX and UI design for the application itself. I also created all marketing materials such as banners, websites, videos, photography, and brochures. In the end we created a great product in partnership with the Spokane Valley Fire Dept, that continues to be purchased and shipped to fire departments, schools, and office buildings across the country!

The SimSafe virtual reality application provides a realistic, immersive, yet safe training environment that allows users young or old to extinguish common household fires using proper techniques. Within the VR environment, users are trained to deploy the tried and true P.A.S.S. (pull, aim, squeeze, sweep) technique while wearing a VIVE PRO VR headset and controllers. Once the training is complete, users are tasked with extinguishing a simulated fire on their own.

I edited the video below to demonstrate the product.
Finding a Name
This is a peek into my process for vetting possible names, checking for market penetration and domain/trademark availability.
Developing the Logo
Here you can see some exploratory logo design work as I tried to find a good mark to represent this brand.
Finalizing the logo design to allow for offshoot brands, the client has some ambitions to branch out to other types of emergency simulation training.
Marketing Materials
Since SIMSAFE is offered as a package that comes with VR headsets, Gravity Jack designed several marketing materials such as brochures and websites to help promote the experience.
I created these banners and tablecloth for a trade show where the product would be shown. I took photography of a fireman and myself to use in the works.
I took the photo of the firefighter myself and create this cool blurring effect like the VR player and the firefighter were merging into one.
User Experience Design
With a wide range of outcomes within the SIMSAFE VR environment, I created wireframes and user stories to account for every scenario that would be developed into the app.
Low fidelity wireframes
UI Design
Game Environment
I didn't do any 3D for this project, that was done by Brandon Harper, but here you can see the environment and the UI placed inside it.
