THE HARMONY OF NATURE & THE BEAUTY OF INVISIBLE
Project by Pongpol Punjawaytegul | Faculty : Chon Supawongse

" The natural creature is the most pure & pristine. Without needing to add
anything redundant. What we need is just to find the redundant. what we need
is just to find the simplest way for the best result. Just only a simple thread
weaving through one another. it can create greatness to natural environment
relief in along with the enjoyment that leave with the human being. The
presence of night sky and night sounds created a promising experience from
the harmony of the nature which later become the beauty of invincible. "

ARCHIPELAGO | MARINE NATIONAL PARK
When we talking about general term of national park, it can be defined as an area of scenic beauty , historical and scientific interest, etc. maintained and preserved by the federal government for the public to visit. most of the time , we could see that ,people enjoy the activities within the national park during the day. However , national park would rather become even more interesting when the light start to fade and the dark start to come. the shift of time is the creation of shifting in diversity of the island , in other words, complexity of the forest happens at night. As it could be seen from common national park in Thailand, most of the structure is constructed heavily and permanently which become one of the major natural disturbance that need to avoid. to make matters worse , the ecological ignorant of these structures is limiting and minimizing the experience that we could earn from the nature. according to the vertical forest layer, there are much more experience we could earn from different level of the forest due to shifting in biodiversity . Therefore, the aim of the design is focused on structural establishment that leave the minimum impact to nature while maximize the night hiking experience based on the the idea of concealing from the ground level which mean the structural elements only leave the ground with minimal footprint. in this case the rope is used as main tension structure for most of the area. with the flexibility of this architectural element , it can be adapt and apply in any place of the island, adjust in any direction of the tree, emphasize the natural experience by promoting vertical circulation, enhance ecological condition by supporting each other tree , allow water to flow freely , prevent the soil from erosion and lastly not disturb the animal path.

COMPREHENSIVE MAP
National park scale  |  Archipelagos scale
The site or “ Hat Khanom - Mu KoThale Tai National Park “ located in Nakornsrithammarat province. This comprehensive map exhibits the general information about the site whether it be the land use, location of specific places , accessibility, flow of the wind , depth of water or natural disturbance. According to the slope of the mountain, different colors have been used to show a different level of steep. While on the right hand side, the map focus more on the scale of several islands including Koh Taen, Koh Madsum , Koh Wang Nok , Koh Wang Nai and Koh rap. It illustrates ecological system of the marine creatures whether it be the characteristic , habitat or level of rarity depending on specific species. These creatures found on this map can be classified into 9 groups as shown in the diagram. Each species can be found in different area depending on the depth of the water and surface of the land.

USERS & PROGRAMS
night hiking is inherently different from day hiking because of the lighting conditions. the reason is it makes the night sky a view able resource for visitors. this study suggested that night sky, particularly the stars and moon, were an important experiential resource during night hiking. According to the "Bortle scale", night sky could be totally affected by the artificial light condition. The more artificial light in the area, the less natural light we see. in this case , to maximize the viewing of the clear night sky and minimizing the light pollution at night, the numbers of electrical devices brought to the site will be controlled.

KWANG PAO BAY
The program would initially occur on the Kwang pao bay where the visitors need to come for check in at the visitor center before got to the islands in which allow them to stay at least 1 night / island ( depends on visitors needs ). This local community has been constructed by enhancing the accessibility , organizing the route of local boats and providing more facilities to the visitors. The structure has also been extended providing a temporary hotel that allow those who came 1 day earlier to stay overnight.

POSSIBLE INSTANCE ( WANG NOK ISLAND )
Wangnok , the only island that provide plenty of fresh water within the island from the peat swamp forest. The proposal can begin with very minimum design for less numbers of visitors to the maximum of 50 people due to the limitation of water resource. Within the site , the considering parts of the land will filled up with the slacklines set by the rangers allow the visitors to choose and set up their camping kits freely.

ANIMAL OBSERVATION
The observing platform created from the rope weaving structure that connect continuously from the main camp. The weaving structure helps in reducing the sound cause by friction to the bark of the wood but its only allow 1 person per 1 platform for person to be concentrate and not cause any sound during observing. Each animal trend to have different behavior and sense which become the reason that the observing platform need to be located under the wind direction.

MATERIAL |  CONSTRUCTION DETAIL
The tension structure can be easily found and bought from any convenient store. The slackline acts as a main structure , glow nylon rope use for light source at night and nylon cord can be multi-purpose used. The weaving techniques is recommended for creating the rope platform. Moreover, this structure is not only proper for all types of hammock, but it can also be adjusted freely.
