Die Symphonie der Grosstadt
...is a psycho geographical exploration that involves usage of art in reinventing urban spaces and areas with intention of implementing them in new meta‐psychical structure that is the final goal of our project.
This idea consist of two artist recording sites in urban areas with cameras and sketch‐drawing, and then re‐imagining them through artistic process (painting, video, collage) into new fresh places, draw‐ed from reality and imagination in the same time...
Produced and gathered material will be collected and summed into a final product of project ‐ a completely new city that will be made of collection of all visited and reinvented places, a plan like artistic opus consisted of paintings and video works that will present one entirely new city in the future, after the completion of entire project.
What we want to do with this, is to give idea of a city ‐ suggestion for improved understanding of the area in which people live, and to give starting point for new comprehension of united world, with planetary cities that don't depend on psychical connection, but are made throughout imagination of the people visiting them and passing through, grabbing favorite sites and areas in them and turning them into art works.
The sudden change of ambiance in a street within the space of a few meters; the evident division of a city into zones of distinct psychic atmospheres; the path of least resistance that is automatically followed in aimless strolls (and which has no relation to the physical contour of the terrain); the appealing or repelling character of certain places — these phenomena all seem to be neglected. In any case they are never envisaged as depending on causes that can be uncovered by careful analysis and turned to account.
