Bowties and Bows Boutique Logo
Some customers come to me knowing almost exactly what they want. In this case, I was presented with a snapshot of a sketch the customer drew and asked to recreate it digitally in solid colors and place a large, watercolor swatch behind the entire thing. She also described how she wanted the black leaves to extend all the way under the bowtie. When it comes to logos, I am a believer that less is more. I also believe no logo ever needs a background. It needs to function in its own right and for that reason, I gave her a full color logo utilizing the trendy watercolor feel that could also hold its own in a black and white setting. Also, being a lover of choices, I gave her a variety of foliage and fonts to choose from in the first draft.
Draft 1
The customer selected the lower righthand design with the neighbouring script font. I was ecstatic that she went with the simplified foilage because, as I said before, less is certainly more!
Draft 2
At this point, the customer loved the boutique style logo and draft two was solely to decide if she liked an 's' with an embellishment or not. She chose the simple 's' as it was less busy and removed an unnecessary distraction.

Below is the final logo in a variety of applications.
